Pennington County reports 8, Meade County, 2 in Monday COVID-19 Update

PIERRE, S.D. – There were 41 new cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota Monday, according to the South Dakota Department of Health.

In the Black Hills area, Pennington County recorded 8 new cases and Meade County recorded 2 new cases. Pennington County now has 169 active cases with 235 cumulative. Meade County has 15 active cases and 21 cumulative.

Oglala Lakota recorded 5 new cases. The county now has 23 active cases.

Other case numbers today include 14 in Beadle, 6 in Minnehaha, 2 each in Brown and Union and one each in Buffalo and Miner counties.

The total number of active cases statewide is down today to 1,069 from Sunday’s 1,094.

There are 87 people hospitalized with COVID-19 , up one from yesterday.

There were no new deaths reported today, leaving the state’s death toll at 62.
