Pennington, Lawrence County added six new COVID-19 cases according to Saturday report

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 94 new cases of coronavirus Saturday and two new deaths. The deaths were reported out of Lawrence and Yankton counties.

Around the Black Hills area, Pennington and Lawrence counties each reported six new cases.

Pennington County’s cumulative total rises to 930, and the number of active cases is up one today to 110. The total in Lawrence County is now 69 with 22 of them remaining active.

Custer County reported two new cases today, giving them a total of 39 with 10 active cases. Butte County also reported a new case today, giving them a total of 19 with 5 active.

Elsewhere, both Oglala Lakota and Fall River County reported an additional new COVID-19 case.

No new cases were reported in Meade County today, and the active number of cases dropped another 2 to 15.

The statewide active caseload is up 19 today to 1,082. The number of people hospitalized is down two to 63.
