PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 520 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday with 148 of those listed as probable.
Active cases were back up today to 5,662 but the number of hospitalizations went down to 187.
Four new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,253. Pennington reported two of the deaths with Lawrence County reporting one. The other death was out of Tripp County.
Around the Black Hills area, Pennington County had 93 total new cases with 16 of those listed as probable.
Meade County had the next highest amount with 25 confirmed and 2 probable cases reported.
Lawrence County added 14 new cases while Butte and Fall River County each added 7.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County reported 12 new cases in the latest report and Custer County had four.
