Person of interest sought by Rapid City Police

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Police Department (RCPD) is seeking the public’s help in locating Jeffery Engelien, a 57-year-old Black Hawk resident, identified as a person-of-interest in an ongoing burglary and theft investigation.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. on February 6th at Chance’s Casino on Haines Ave. Police responded to an alarm and, upon arrival, discovered damage to an office door. Subsequent investigation revealed an undisclosed amount of cash missing from the casino’s safe. Engelien, a former employee of the establishment, is being sought for questioning.

Anyone with information about Engelien’s whereabouts or details related to the burglary is urged to contact Detective James Halterman at 605-394-4134.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by texting the letters ‘RCPD’ along with the information to 847411.
