WALL, S.D. – A windy and cool day greeted participants at the Wall Invitational Track and Field Meet Monday.
Philip Area won the boys team title with 154 points and Wall totaled 185 points to claim girls team title.
In boys’ results; the Scotties won six different events, winners included: Baylor Burns in the 800 meters, Asher Peterson in the 1600 meter run, Kash Slovek in the pole vault and Wakely Burns in the 3200 meters. Philip also captured the 4×200 meter relay and the 4×800 meter relay.
Wall boys winners included: Rylan McDonnell in the 100 and 200 meters as well as the long jump and triple jump. Tanner Volmer won the 300 meter hurdles, and the Eagles captured the 4×400 meter relay.
Other area boys winners included: Faith’s Ryan Palmer in the 400, Lyman’s Rory McManus in the 110 hurdles, the Faith 4×100 relay team, the Jones County sprint medley relay team, Kadoka Area’s Lincoln Koehn in shot put, Kadoka Area’s Reece Ohrtman in discus and Jones County’s Nix in the high jump.
Wall girls winners included: Nora Dinger in the 100, Paige Kjerstad in the 400, the 4×100 relay, the 4×400 relay, and the 4×800 relay, April Schulz in shot put, Schulz in discus and Dinger in the long jump.
Other area girls’ winners included: the Philip 4×200 relay team, Bennett County’s Harley Harris in triple jump, Faith’s Kambelle Schauer in pole vault, White River’s Maleena Brave in high jump, Jones County’s Emma Hunt in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles, Jones County’s Jolie Dugan in the 3200, Dugan in the 1600, New Underwood’s Olivia Carmichael in the 800, and Kadoka Area’s Bella Williams in the 200 meters.
