Pilot unhurt after emergency airplane landing

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A pilot of a single-engine plane is lucky to have escaped an emergency landing in Rapid City Saturday night.

Authorities say just about 6 p.m., the pilot went down near Radar Hill Road, in a field just east of the Rapid City Regional Airport.

It’s unclear what caused the malfunction in the plane.

The pilot was the only one on board and was uninjured.
