PINE RIDGE, S.D. – A Pine Ridge man entered a guilty plea Wednesday in federal court for killing his brother
Lawrence Pourier, 52, was originally charged with second degree murder. After reaching a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of his brother Eric Pourier.
Prosecutors and the defense have agreed to recommend a 10-year sentence.
In the factual basis statement signed by Pourier, he admits to getting into a fight with his brother at a home near Porcupine back in January.
His brother died of blunt force trauma to the head.
