RAPID CITY, S.D. – On Thursday, the Rapid City Police Department was called to Quality Inn and Suites at 1550 North Lacrosse Street. They received a report of a female attempting to stab staff members in the lobby.
When they arrived, officers were told that the female, who was identified as 24-year-old Eden Whirlwind of Rapid City, had fled to a room within the hotel. The occupants in the room refused to answer the door. A guest told police that he had seen a female jump from the second-story window of the room. After locating Whirlwind in the parking lot, police found a knife in her pocket. Witnesses positively identified Whirlwind as the suspect attempting to stab people.
Police did make contact with two males in the room, who were identified as 25-year-old Damon Andrews and 35-year-old Jeremy Goodshot both of Rapid City. When searching the hotel room, police found various drug items including methamphetamine and associated paraphernalia.
Whirlwind was placed under arrest for two counts of Aggravated Assault, Obstruction, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Andrews and Goodshot were also placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Accessory to a Crime, and Parole Holds.
All three were transported to Pennington County Jail.
