RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police have arrested a man believed to be connected with four robberies that have occurred over the past month.

Police say they responded to a report of a robbery at 3:00 a.m. this morning at the B.P. Casino. When they arrived on scene, a casino employee said an unknown male entered the establishment with a firearm and demanded cash. The man fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Later, a Pennington County Sheriff’s Deputy advised that they had located a vehicle of interest in the robbery that was heading northbound on Sturgis Road. The RV camper was stopped after it crossed into Meade County at which point the occupants were ordered out of the vehicle.

Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, 58-year-old Michael Daker for first degree robbery after being identified by the casino clerk as the man who held up the establishment.

Police believe Daker is also responsible for robberies at the Loaf-N-Jug on March 3, the YesWay on March 11 and the Motel 6 on March 11.
