Police say remains found in February have been identified

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police say an individual whose body had been discovered in a culvert along Lacrosse St. has been identified.

Police say forensic testing on the remains identified them as belonging to 62-year-old Lloyd Bald Eagle. Bald Eagle had been reported missing in November of 2022 and the remains were not discovered until February of 2024 during a routine inspection of the area.

RCPD indicated that the autopsy revealed no indication of foul play in Bald Eagle’s death. They added a thank you to the Bureau of Indian Affairs Missing and Murdered Unit for their assistance.
