RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Post 22 is headed to the State A Legion Tournament after sweeping Huron in regional playoff action Friday.
Jace Morgan collected three hits in three at bats, as the Hardhats defeated Huron Post 7 13-0. Morgan hit an inside the park home run in the fourth inning, tripled in the first inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.
Post 22 scored six runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. Hayden Holec doubled, scoring one run, Tate Crosswait homered to right field, scoring three runs, and Good singled, scoring two runs.
Hayden Leighty earned the win for the Hardhats. He gave up one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking two.
Layne Wenzel took the loss for Huron Post 7.
In other action Friday, Rapid City Post 320 saw their season come to an end with a loss to Harrisburg Gold.
The Stars lost by the score of 21-4.
The Stars lost game one to Harrisburg Gold 10-0.
And Spearfish Post 164 is also done for the season as they lose game 2 to Renner today 13-0.
Renner and Harrisburg Gold advance to the state tournament.
