RENNER, S.D. – Rapid City Post 22 split a pair of games in Renner, defeating the home team 6-3 but falling to Pierre in the nightcap 9-6.
In the Renner contest, Post 22 spotted Post 307 a 3-0 lead after 4, but would score 2 in the bottom of the fifth and four in the bottom of the seventh to win 6-3.
Jake Goble had 2 hits and 4 R.B.I.’s for the Hardhats while his teammate Jacob Solano scored 2 hits.
Wilson Kiefer got the pitching win going 3.2 innings and striking out six batters.
In the nightcap, Pierre took a 7-2 lead into the fourth inning and held off a late Post 22 comeback to win 9-6.
Ryker Henne had 3 hits for the Hardhats and Dalton Klosterman added 3 R.B.I.
The Hardhats are 9-7 on the season.
