RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rocky Mountain scored 5 runs in the top of the first and never looked back as they ran away with a 12-1 victory over Post 22 Sunday in the Firecracker Tournament championship game.
Post 22 added their only run in the bottom of the third, and held Rocky Mountain scoreless until the fifth when the Lobos exploded for six runs to end the game early.
Cooper Axe had a big game for Rocky Mountain, with 4 hits and 3 R.B.I.’s.
The Hardhats dropped two games at the tournament, dropping a 7-2 game to Missoula on Friday and beating Gillette on Saturday 6-4.
Post 22 is 18-7 on the season and will play Rapid City Post 320 at Pete Lien on Tuesday.
