UNDATED – In legion baseball action Wednesday, Rapid City Post 22 split a pair of games in Nebraska.
In their first game, the Hardhats won a hard fought battle over Grand Island1-0.
Ryan Neugebauer started the game for the Hardhats and recorded 21 outs.
A single by Hayden Holec on an 0-2 count in the bottom of the fourth put Post 22 on the board. That lone run would be the difference.
Neugebauer gave up just five hits over seven innings, striking out one and walking four.
In their second game of the day, Post 22 dropped a 3-2 game to De Pere, Wisconsin.
The game was tied at two in the bottom of the ninth when Jason Lehman hit a sacrifice fly, scoring the winning run.
Both teams were strong on the hill. De Pere pitchers struck out three, while Post 22 pitchers sat down eight. Jace Morgan took the loss for the Hardhats who are now 34-10 on the season.
Post 22 plays the Lincoln East Spartans today.
