RAPID CITY, SD – The Rapid City Post 320 Stars took both games of a doubleheader from the Sturgis Post 33 Titans at Pete Lien Memorial Field, 13-3 in game one and 14-4 in the nightcap. Both games ended due to the 10-run mercy rule.Â
Laadon Faatz earned the win for Post 320 in game one, striking out four and walking one over five innings of work. Aiden Wood took the loss for Sturgis. Â The Stars finished with 10 hits and were led by Jhett Peterson, who went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Â Post 33 had seven hits as a team. Evan Stroud went 2-for-3 with an RBI.Â
The Stars led 4-0 after two innings in game two and then had eight runs in the third inning to put the game out of reach, winning 14-4 in five innings.Â
Nolan Williamson earned the game two win for the Stars, and Evan Stroud took the loss for Post 33. Rapid City collected 11 hits and were led by Max Speed, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Jack Knutson had three hits for Sturgis, who had six hits as a team.Â
The Titans fall to 3-14 on the season and travel to Spearfish next Monday to take on Post 164 at Black Hills Energy Field.Â
