Post 33 Bounces Back to Nip Miles City

RAPID CITY, SD — The Sturgis Post 33 Titans took home a 5-4 victory over the Miles City Colts on Saturday at the Veterans Classic baseball tournament.

Sturgis opened up scoring in the first inning, when David Anderson singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Titans tied things up at four when Ridge Inhofer tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Inhofer earned the win for Sturgis Post 33. The righthander went four and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on one hit and striking out five. Conner Cruickshank threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Trae Awbery took the loss for Miles City. The bulldog lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out six.

Hunter Janzen, Inhofer, Cruickshank, RJ Andrzejewski, Anderson, Dustin Alan, Evan Stroud, and Kain Peters all had one hit to lead Sturgis Post 33.

Awbery led Miles City with two hits in three at bats.

The win improves the Titans record to 3-2 in the tournament. Sturgis plays the 406 Flyers on Sunday to wrap up their tournament play.
