Power outage in New Underwood area caused by equipment failure

NEW UNDERWOOD, S.D. – Residents in the New Underwood area were without power Thursday morning due to an outage.

West River Electric Association says the outage was due to equipment failure which caused the pole to catch fire.

Crews worked Thursday morning to restore those without power.
