RAPID CITY, S.D. – A welcome home ceremony is scheduled for the South Dakota Army National Guard’s 129th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in the Duke Corning Armory on Camp Rapid.
The public is highly encouraged to attend the event. Ten Soldiers from the 129th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment are returning home after a nine-month deployment to Europe in support of Special Operations Command – Europe.
The 129th provided public affairs support to units within the European Command area of operation. The unit is comprised of officers and mass communications specialists who gather, develop, and distribute print and broadcast media, facilitate civilian news media, and support command communication initiatives.
Planned speakers for the ceremony include Gov. Kristi Noem, and Maj. Gen. Jeff Marlette, SDNG Adjutant General.
