RAPID CITY, S.D. – The push is on to prepare for the expansion of Ellsworth Air Force Base.
Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of construction has already begun to house the B-21 Raider Bomber…and the more than three-thousand service members needed to keep them flying.
The Legislature’s Select Committee held a hearing on Ellsworth Monday morning.
Ellsworth Development Authority Director Scott Landguth told lawmakers that good job opportunities for spouses and good schools are critical to future growth.
Earlier this year, lawmakers failed to pass funding to help school districts surrounding Ellsworth add to their facilities to handle the expected enrollment growth.
