RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City fire crews responded to a grass fire on Neptune Drive Monday afternoon that resulted in some evacuations.
The fire reported around noon burned approximately 2-3 acres according to fire spokeswoman Tessa Jaegar.
A handful of homes in the path of the fire were evacuated, and Brenden Medina with Rapid City Police says all homes were saved by the quick work of the firefighters.
He says they did have a problem with people who did not live in the area not heeding their warning of staying clear of the area.
No injuries have been reported and there was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City fire crews are battling an active wildfire on Neptune Drive in the central part of the city.
Fire crews say police are assisting with some evacuations in the area.
Neptune Drive is located near the Star Village Apartments and west of East Boulevard.
First responders and law enforcement are asking people to avoid the area.
