Rapid City donor adds incentive to get COVID-19 vaccination

RAPID CITY, S.D. – In hopes of upping the percentage of people getting a COVID-19 vaccine, an incentive is being offered this week in Rapid City.

Black Hills area residents will have the chance to get the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine this Thursday, Sept. 2., not only for free, but the first 90 people who get the shot will receive a $100 Visa gift card.

From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., or until shots run out, residents can go to LaCroix Hall in The Monument to get their shot and their card. A photo I.D. will be required.

Officials from Monument Health will be on hand to ensure that only the people who have not been vaccinated receive the shot and gift card.

Local donor Stan Adelstein is behind the pop-up clinic in partnership with the Black Hills Area Community Foundation.
