Rapid City Municipal Election – Salamun wins mayoral race

RAPID CITY, S.D. – With all precincts reporting, Jason Salamun has been elected Rapid City’s next Mayor, defeating a crowded field of four other candidates.

Laura Armstrong finished with the second most votes.

Salamun garnered 4,888 votes while Armstrong finished with 4,619.

Salamun will take office on July 3rd.

The races for the three City Council seats in Rapid City are also decided. Josh Biberdorf has won Ward 1, Kevin Maher has won Ward 3 and John Roberts has won Ward 4.

And, in the school board election, Walter Swan Jr. won the seat in District 4 and Christine Stephenson won the District 5 position for the Rapid City Area Schools School Board.
