Rapid City Police investigate shots fired incident

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police made an arrest following a shots fired incident Wednesday.

Police say at around 3:30 p.m. on April 9th, they were dispatched to 25 Knollwood Drive for a report of gunshots being fired at the apartment building. On arrival, police located several shell casings in the parking lot.

During their ongoing investigation, police developed information that the suspect was barricaded inside a residence in the 1000 block of Willsie Avenue.

The Pennington County/Rapid City Special Response Team responded to the location in order to peacefully resolve the situation. Law enforcement made entry to the residence and were able to safely take suspect into custody.

No injuries were reported in the shooting and an investigation into the incident continues.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
