RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding a body found in Rapid Creek, on the west side of Founders Park Thursday.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m., law enforcement and medical personnel converged on a section of Rapid Creek near the 2000 block of West Omaha Street, in response to a report of a possible drowning. The victim was found unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.
According to Lt. Brian Blenner of the RCPD, the case is being investigated as an unattended death.
