Rapid City police investigating fatal accident at E Highway 44 and Center Street

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Police Department is investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Saturday morning.

The crash happened when an SUV left the roadway and struck a pole on E. Highway 44 and Center Street.

One occupant was deceased when crews arrived on scene while two other occupants were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

As the RCPD investigates the incident, it is believed alcohol and drugs are both factors in the crash.
