RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police are investigating two armed robberies that took place Monday.
The first robbery happened at the Boyd’s Drug Mart on East Saint Patrick Street.
Police say a man wearing a surgical mask brandished a gun and demanded medication from the pharmacy. Police say the employees of the pharmacy complied and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. They did not specify what the robber got away with.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, about 50 years in age with black hair wearing a brown jacket, Broncos ball cap, and a yellow surgical mask.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact police at 394-4131. An anonymous tip can also be sent by texting the letters ‘RCPD’ and the information to 847411.
Police are uncertain if the robbery is related to one at the Boyd’s Drug RX Express on December 17th.
Police are also investigating an armed robbery at the Rushmore Mall.
Police say a suspect walked into the M & K Knifeworx just before 4:00 p.m. Monday with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.
After the suspect left the store, police were notified and the mall was placed on secure status. The status was lifted a short time later.
Police were still searching for the suspect as of Monday night.
There were no injuries reported in either holdup.
