RAPID CITY, S.D. — Police in Rapid City are investigating an unattended death.
At around 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, Rapid City Police Department officers responded to a welfare check on an unconscious male.
Officers arrived in the area of the bike path and the East Boulevard Bridge and located 55-year-old Nelson Perry of Rapid City who was unresponsive.
A medical unit arrived shortly after and began performing emergency life-saving measures on Perry before transporting him to the hospital where he was declared dead.
When life-saving measures were being administered, no signs of trauma were seen on the man. An autopsy has been scheduled as part of the ongoing investigation into the Perry’s death.
