Rapid City Police, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office investigating unattended death

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Law enforcement in Rapid City say they are investigating an unattended death.

At around 5:20 p.m. Monday evening, the Rapid City Police Department was dispatched to a residence at 840 North Spruce St. for a report of a gunshot victim.

Upon arrival, officers located two deceased individuals inside the residence.

Detectives from the Rapid City Police Department and Pennington Co. Sheriff’s Office are working to determine what occurred, and at this time, they do not believe there is an active threat to public safety.

Authorities say additional information will be made available as the investigation continues.
