UNDATED – Sioux Falls Post 15 East used a 2 run second inning and extra runs in the third and fourth to earn a 4-1 win over Post 22 at the State Legion Tournament Monday.
Andrew Evanson got the pitching win for East, working seven full innings, striking out four and allowing 5 hits. Despite those 5 hits, Post 22 only managed to get one run across.
Drew Scherbenske had the lone R.B.I. for Post 22 and he added 2 hits as well.
Scherbenske also took the pitching loss for the Hardhats, working 3.1 innings and striking out 2.
The loss eliminates Post 22 from the tournament.
In other action at the state tournament, Renner escaped with a 7 to 6 win over Pierre Post 8 but scoring the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 6-all tie.
That sets up the following games for Tuesday:
Game 14 – Renner Royals vs. Sioux Falls East – 4:00 PM
Game 15 – Renner Royals vs. Sioux Falls East – 30 minutes after Game 14 (if Sioux Falls East wins Game 14)
