Rapid City Post 22 punches ticket to state tournament with sweep of Renner Post 307

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Post 22 earned a berth to the South Dakota Legion State Baseball Tournament with a 6-3 win over Renner Post 307 Saturday.

The Hardhats completed the sweep of the best of three series after winning the opening game on Friday.

Post 22 scored a run in the second inning to take an early 1-0 lead before adding 2 runs in the fourth and three runs in the top of the seventh.

Blake Weaver and Jacob Solano each had 2 hits and Ryker Henne had 2 R.B.I. to help lead Post 22.

Jake Goble got the pitching win, working six full innings and striking out four.

In other action Saturday, Post 320 dropped their second game to Watertown Post 17 by a score of 2-1.

Watertown, with the win, takes the best of three series and advances to the state tournament.
