Rapid City Post 22 stays alive at State Tournament with 14-4 win over Harrisburg Maroon

YANKTON, S.D. – Rapid City Post 22 kept their post-season alive, winning their elimination game today at the State Legion Baseball Tournament.

The Hardhats rebounded from their opening night loss to Brookings with a 14-4 drubbing of the Harrisburg Maroon Squad.

The Hardhats used small ball to help them get the win. They totaled three bunt singles, five stolen bases and reached on 12 free passes to put the pressure on Harrisburg Maroon.

Fifth-seeded Post 22 also benefitted from a stellar relief outing by Eli Kelley and kept its championship hopes alive with a 14-4 run-rule victory over the Tigers.

Ridge Inhofer went 2 for 3 with two runs and three RBIs to pace the Hardhats at the plate.

Post 22 will play the host team Yankton today. Yankton lost last night to Harrisburg Gold 16 to 4.

Also yesterday, Renner Post 307 eliminated Aberdeen with an 8-2 win and will play Brookings today. Brookings stumbled against Sioux Falls East 14 to 4 last night.
