RAPID CITY, S.D. – After dropping a game to Mitchell earlier in the tournament, Rapid City Post 22 fought back and claimed the state championship on Sunday by beating Sioux Falls East 5-1.
Post 22 beat Sioux Falls East twice to win it all.
In the winner take all match-up, the Hardhats got seven hits from seven different players and all five of their runs were plated by different players.
Alex Dietrich helped lead the way by collecting three R.B.I.’s.
Harrison Good got the pitching win, going all seven innings and striking out two, allowing just one run.
Post 22 will have a few days to celebrate before gearing up for the Central Plains Regional Tournament, which will take place at Fitzgerald Stadium, beginning Wednesday.
