Rapid City youth boxer wins championship at National Tournament

RAPID CITY, SD. – Ten-year-old Dayton Eagle Bull from Rapid City took home the championship title at the 55th Annual National Silver Gloves Boxing Tournament over the weekend.  Independence, Missouri hosted boxers from across the nation.

Region 4, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota, produced 12 National champions and 12 runner ups.

National Silver Gloves is an amateur boxing competition for 8 to 16-year-old youth.

“Dayton is a young talented boxer who trains hard to learn the skills and attain the conditioning necessary to win in the ring.” said Tony Cleberg, President and Coach, Rapid City Youth Boxing.  “We are very proud of Dayton’s national championship and thankful to all of our boxing coaches who continue to volunteer.”
