Rapid Valley Elementary School evacuated after bomb threat

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid Valley Elementary School was evacuated because of a bomb threat this (Friday) afternoon.

The Pennington County Sheriff’s office says children and staff left the building and a staging area was set up for families to reunite with students at the Rapid Valley Sanitary District, 4612 Teak Drive.

The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says the threat was called in to the school and mentioned a bomb was inside the building.

Two K-9′s cleared the school and no explosive devices were found.

Officers continue to search for the person responsible for the bomb threat.
