STURGIS, S.D. – The annual Sturgis Invitational Competitive Cheer and Dance competition was held Thursday night a West Gymnasium.
The home team Sturgis was first on the floor and turned in a fourth place finish with 142 points.
Rapid City Central won Cheer Grand Champion with a score of 172. Rapid City Stevens placed second with 164.5 points and Winner came in a strong third with 154 points.
Winning Grand Champions Dance was Rapid City Central as well with 355.5 points. Central claimed the Hip Hop and Pom Dance categories and Rapid City Stevens won the Jazz competition. Stevens placed second in the overall dance standings and Winner was third. Spearfish and Hot Springs rounded out the top five.
