RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Council and Mayor Jason Salamun have decided to delay the vote to change the way the Vision Fund is currently utilized.
The delay is to give city officials more time to have a public meeting on the matter.
The council received comments at their meeting this week that more public input should be offered.
Mayor Salamun says they will work on setting up a public meeting to discuss the plan.
In April, Mayor Salamun called for restructuring the Vision Account for the 2025-2029 pay period, focusing on “brick-and-mortar” projects which benefit the Rapid City public rather than financing private interests.
