RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central competed at the annual Crosstown Classic Track and Field Meet Thursday.
The Stevens girls’ dominated the field events, capturing shot put, discus, javelin, high jump,pole vault, long jump and triple jump. Isabel Higgins won the shot put and discus throw, Bienna Brewer won the javelin, Haley Bruce captured the high jump, Olivia Roberts won the pole vault, Ava Holsworth took the long jump title and Sydney Hughes won the triple jump.
In the track events, Ella Bradeen of Stevens won a double-event winner, capturing both the 100 and 200-meters. Her teammate Sydney Wathen won the 400 meters and Brinna Sheldon, also of Stevens, won the 800 meters.
Stevens also captured the 4×100 meter relay with Central winning the 4×200 and 4×400.
On the boys side, Rapid City Central’s Xander Lepp won the 100 meters and Cael Meisman of Stevens won the 200 meters. Landen Matkins of Stevens won the 400 meters and Tate Van Beek of Stevens won the 800 meters.
Jack Day of Stevens swept the hurdles, winning both the 110 meters and 300 meters. Central won the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relay with Stevens winning the 4×400.
In field events, Elias Gillen of Stevens won the shot put and Conner Warren of Central won the discus.
