RC Stevens boys win Heartland Preview Cross Country

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Rapid City Stevens boys cross country team won the Heartland Preview Saturday in Sioux Falls.

Stevens finished with 67 points. Minnetonka, MN was second with 96 and Harrsiburg was third with 113. Sturgis finished in fifth place.

Winning the boys race was Simeon Birnbaum of Stevens in a time of 15:33.98.

Issac Davelaar of Sioux Falls Christian raced to a second place finish and Nick Gilles of Minnetonka placed third. Top placing Scooper was Deron Graf in tenth.

Winning the girls’ team title was Minnetonka with 45. Second place was O’Gorman followed by Stevens in third. Hill City was 5th, Spearfish was 7th and Sturgis came in 12th.

Winning the girls race was Alea Hardie of O’Gorman, finishing in a time of 17:42.53.

Libby Castelli of O’Gorman was second and Peyton VanDeest of Spearfish placed third.

Top placing Scooper was Lucy Hamer in 37th.
