RCPD arrest juvenile suspect in connection with stabbing

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City police officers were called to 1909 N. Lacrosse Street Wednesday morning for a report of a male who had received multiple stab wounds.

Officers located the man outside the business when they arrived on the scene. Several bystanders were assisting the man with his injuries.

The man was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

After speaking with witnesses, law enforcement located a juvenile suspect in the case and took him into custody.

Officers spoke to witnesses and learned the man was stabbed somewhere between the 1600 and 1900 block of N. Lacrosse Street.

A juvenile matching the suspect’s clothing description was located by police officers, and he was in possession of a knife. The juvenile was then taken into custody.

Police believe that several other individuals may have witnessed the incident, and they ask that anyone with any information regarding the stabbing incident should contact Detective Justin Gizzi at 605-394-4134. An anonymous text can also be sent by texting “RCPD” and the information to 847411.

The RCPD is continuing to investigate the incident.
