Altercation in Rapid City leads to shooting.

RCPD looking into Monday shooting

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police say one person was shot following an altercation among several individuals in Rapid City on Monday, September 16.

The Rapid City Police Department reports that they were called and dispatched around 5 p.m. to the 100 block of E. Watertown Street where they learned of the altercation which resulted in one male being shot.

Officials report that the male was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries and that they are gathering information on the suspect and their whereabouts.

RCPD says there is no ongoing threat to public safety as the shooting did not appear to be random in nature.
