RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police say a juvenile male and an adult male sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries following a shooting early Wednesday morning.
Officers were dispatched around 4:45 a.m. to a residence at 211 E. Knollwood Drive, where they found a juvenile male struck by gunfire inside an apartment. Police rendered emergency aid until a medical unit arrived to transport him to the hospital. Witnesses reported seeing a Chevy car leaving the scene shortly after the shooting.
Shortly afterward, police were notified of a Chevy car that arrived at the hospital, dropping off an adult male passenger also injured by gunfire. A gun was found on the adult male before he was admitted for treatment.
Preliminary information indicates the two injured individuals knew each other, suggesting the shooting was not a random incident. RCPD is still investigating the shooting.
