RCPD Officer to help Meade County students

BLACKHAWK, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says Senior Officer Stringer of the Rapid City Police Department was sworn in Tuesday.

In a release, the sheriff’s office says the Honorable Judge Fitzgerald administered the oath of office so that Stringer can work with young students at Blackhawk Elementary, and the county line is not an impediment to doing the right thing.

“We enjoy a strong relationship with other agencies who work in and around Meade County.   These partnerships are evidence that we will do whatever is necessary to protect the children in our community.” said Meade County Sheriff Pat West.

There are interesting geographic challenges in Meade County, especially with Blackhawk Elementary School.  The school is part of the RC School District, but the school itself is in Meade County and most of the students come from Meade County homes.

These partnerships with other agencies truly enhance the response and service we are able to provide our citizens.
