Reese Jacobs selected as Class A Wrestler of the Year

STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis Scooper Reese Jacobs received the Class A Wrestler of the Year award from the South Dakota Wrestling Coaches Association Thursday.

Jacobs finished off his final season as a Scooper by winning his third wrestling championship this year. He went 52-0 at 182 pounds and finished his career as the all time wins leader at Sturgis Brown.

Burke/Gregory’s Owen Hansen won the Class B Award. He finished 46-0 this season and won his third straight title at 132 pounds.

Taylor Graveman of Spearfish captured the girls title. She finished 48-0 this season and won the 132 pound crown.

Scooper Coach Mike Abell received the region Coach of the Year honor at Class A. Custer’s Jared Webster received the Class B honor.
