BOX ELDER, S.D. – Rapid City Stevens edged Sturgis to take the Class 4A Region title Saturday at Douglas High School.
The Raiders finished with 269.5 points and Sturgis posted 248.
Spearfish came in third with 173.5 and Rapid City Central was fourth with 166.
Sturgis placed wrestlers in the top four in all weight classes, which means the Scoopers will have a wrestler in each of the 14 classes for next week’s state tournament in Sioux Falls.
Sturgis had four region champions. They were Kelton Olson at 132, Reese Jacobs at 170, Aiden Werlinger at 195 and Zac Juelfs at 220.
Stevens crowned six champions on the day.
