Richard Lorrie Jay Crawford graduated into eternal life October 13, 2023, at the age of 85.
He was born to Robert and Laura Crawford in Lead, SD, January 19, 1938. He graduated from Lead High School in 1956, and joined the USAF in 1958. After returning to Lead, he married JoAnn Quaschnick of Terraville, and had one daughter, Karen. They moved to Merced, California, where they lived for many years.
Upon retirement, Dick returned to Spearfish, SD, where he reconnected with his high school sweet heart, Shirley Temple. He returned to work at Prairie Hills Transit as the Ticketing Specialist. He was considered the ‘detail person’ in the office and worked until he turned 81. His last 18 months were spent at Spearfish Canyon Health Care. There he enjoyed socializing, playing cards and received excellent care.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, four half-sisters, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Jim) Hale of Cibolo, TX, and several nieces and nephews. A grave side service will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.
