Robert Lyle Lang (Bob), aged 76, passed away on November 6, 2023, leaving behind memories of a life well-lived.
He was preceded in death by his parents Verla and Wayne Lang, as well as his loyal and loving canine friend Kona. Bob devoted many years to providing steadfast care for his aging parents. Bob also proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War, displaying dedication and commitment to his nation.
Bob was a man of many passions, and his zest for life was evident in his love for off-roading, motorcycling, and hiking. Whether navigating rugged terrains, feeling the wind on his face while riding his motorcycle, exploring the great outdoors, or visiting with the horses and dogs while residing at Fort Meade VA Medical Center, Bob found solace and joy in the embrace of nature.
Bob is survived by his Uncle Boyd Veal Jr., several cousins, and many friends who will treasure the moments he shared with them.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 10 AM on November 27th. The service will take place at the Fort Meade Chapel, where friends and family will come together to share memories and offer support to one another during this difficult time. Following the service, there will be an inurnment at 11:30 AM at Black Hills National Cemetery, where Bob will find his final resting place among fellow veterans.
Bob will be missed, and his legacy will endure through the memories he created and the joy that he brought to those in his life. May he rest in peace.
