Roberta M. (Morman) Mollman

Roberta M. (Morman) Mollman was born June 12, 1934 in Hebron, ND, to Robert and Eva Morman.  She was the eldest of 11 children raised on a farm in Haymarsh, ND.  Roberta first met her husband, Wally Mollman, while attending St. Mary’s Catholic School in Richardton, ND. Roberta married Wally on June 3, 1953 in Haymarsh, ND.  They lived near Watauga, SD, until 1960 when they moved to Deadwood, SD.

Roberta was a devoted wife, loving mother and a faithful member of the Catholic Community, including Director of the Catechism at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Altar Society at St. Ambrose and Parish Council at St Ambrose and St. Francis of Assisi.  She was always known to have crochet hooks in her hands and crocheted dozens of prayer shawls that were distributed to many in need.  If there was ever a baby in the room, Roberta loved holding and rocking them. Roberta also made numerous handmade gifts for her children and grandchildren including crocheted afghans, embroidered tea towels, Christmas pajamas, and many more.  She was always heard saying “We’ll see.”, “It will be ok.”, and “I am fine.” Her positive attitude was infectious and comforting.
