Ronda Kay Trusty

Ronda Kay Trusty passed away on October 8, 2023. She was born March 13, 1946, to Floyd and Delphia (Williams) Henrichsen. 

She attended school in Rapid City.  She graduated from Black Hills State University, with a bachelor’s degree in teaching, she then taught second grade for the Douglas School System for 30 years.

On December 22, 1966, she married Joe Trusty.  They had been married 50 years and 10 months. They had two children, Trenton Trusty and Joella Neumiller. 

Upon retirement Ronda and Joe continued to enjoy collecting cars and drag racing. Aside from racing, Ronda spent her free time building doll houses and crocheting blankets. During the holidays she took great joy in making an absurd amount of sugar cookies to send home with her grandchildren. 

Ronda is survived by her son, Trenton Trusty; daughter, Joella (Mike) Neumiller; grandchildren, Jaclyn Neumiller, Josie Neumiller, Amethyst (Garret) Brimm, Joey Trusty, Logan Trusty; one great grandchild, Jude Brimm; sister, Lyla (Sam Klinnert) Henrichsen; sisters-in-law, Berna Grover and Becky (Darrell) Fish; brothers-in-law, Ken (Dianne) Trusty and Fran Forsell; and several nieces and nephews. 

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Joe Trusty; both of her parents, Floyd Henrichsen and Delphia Williams; sisters, Ardena Ransom and Lynn Hunter, sister-in- law, Carol Forsell; brother-in-law, Bud Grover; and her in-laws, Gil and Inez Trusty.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 13, 2023, at Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis. Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery at 11:30 am.
