Rounds, Johnson cruise to primary victories

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota voters chose incumbents in the Republican Primary Tuesday for U.S. House and Senate.

Mike Rounds jumped out to a commanding lead over Scyler Borglum of Rapid City and will advance to the November general election.

Also, Dusty Johnson also won easily with a victory over Liz Marty May. In a press release, Johnston stated the following:

“Thousands of South Dakotans have cast their votes, giving us one of the largest congressional primary wins in state history.

No candidate can win a race alone. Thank you for your encouragement, time, contributions, and prayers.

This is an unusual and difficult time in our nation’s history.

As I move toward the November election and the opportunity to continue representing our state, I’ll remember there is much work still to be done in the service of “one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

The two candidates are considered strong favorites to win a second term.

Joe Biden easily carried the state in the path to the Democratic nomination for president, and President Donald Trump won without opposition on the Republican side.
