WASHINGTON, D.C. – South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says Congress will likely authorize more money than the President is requesting to fight the Coronavirus.
“Through an abundance of concern and caution, there’s probably more of a move to authorize more resources than the Administration has asked for.”
Rounds says Congress won’t “lowball” what’s needed, but the money will probably come with at least one string attached to make certain it goes just to fight the Coronavirus.
“..Some hooks in it, so if they don’t spend the money, then the money can’t be used for anything else…”
The Trump Administration is asking for $2.5 billion. Some Republicans have called for around $4 billion. Some Democrats want to double that.
